I loved this! And have vowed to read A Sicilian Romance. Jane Eyre, of course, is an old friend, as is the riven tree and all it symbolizes.:-)

We rarely get enough rain here in Southern California, so, when we get lucky, it’s a special occasion for a fire and a book. I’ve always enjoyed books and dramas where the weather is a character (explaining my fondness for English and Scottish mysteries.
